RECESSED HOUSINGS

Before you purchase LED Recessed Housings, you'll want to ask a few questions about your lighting project:

  • New construction or a remodel? New construction housings attach directly to ceiling supports, while remodel can light are lighter so that they can be installed directly into the ceiling material.
  • Is insulation present or not? Install IC rated housings where insulation will be in direct contact with the housing, and Non-IC rated housings where it will not.
  • What type of ceiling are you working with? Sloped ceiling housing fixtures and trims can be matched to the angle of a ceiling. For bathrooms and showers, "wet location" rated housings are an absolute must for safety.
  • What are you using your lights for? For general lighting, consider energy-efficient LED recessed lighting kits or fluorescent design. For reading and other tasks as well as artwork, try directional trims. Other choices include economical line voltage fixtures or high quality low voltage designs.
